Get to Know Me

IMG_6290.JPG

I was born in Veracruz, Mexico but London has been my home for the past 20 years. I came to London to follow my musical career and my love and passion for the drums.

My music style could be described as DUALISM. How opposite or contrary rhythms may actually be complementary, interconnected, and interdependent in the natural world, and how they may give rise to each other as they interrelate to one another.

When something is whole, by definition, it’s unchanging and complete. So, when you split something into two halves, it upsets the equilibrium of wholeness. Both halves are chasing after each other as they seek a new balance with each other. The nature of my vision lies in the interchange and interplay of the two components.

This is how the Mindful Drummer came to life!

A Yin Yang harmony that is complementary in my mindset as a musician. Similar to the energies of the universe, each side has their own unique personality traits and both Yin and Yang energies compliment each other perfectly. The Mindful Drummer is the perfect example.

My Mindful side (Yin) has found passion in music and sound Healing therapy. I worked for many years as a music therapist in care homes for people with profound physical and learning disabilities, including working as a music facilitator with Spinning Wheel, who are an organisation specialising in sensory movement and music for adults with complex needs. That gave me the chance to gain experience working with people facing various mental health challenges and with people who feel that they would benefit from realising stress, trauma and calming their minds.

My drummer side (Yang) as a self-employed musician and sound engineer has found my passion mainly as a drummer and percussionist for studio recording sessions, rehearsals, local, national and international gigs, tours, workshops, etc. I play the blues, jazz, rock and roll, Latin music, African music, reggae, new-age, bossa nova, etc.

The balance of The Mindful Drummer’s music style is important.

I play drums and percussion instruments like drum kit, Djembe, congas, bongos, handpans, cajón, gongs, bells, Tibetan bowls, crystal bowls, chimes, shakers, waterphone and many more

I also offer, sound engineer services for live music performance, studio recordings and mixing and mastering of music tracks.

I have produced my own music album in 2013 called “Healing Music For The Evolution Of The Soul”
